Silk painting?  What’s that like? Can I paint my own scarf? I had picked up a flyer, “SILK PAINTING WORKSHOP” that really intrigued me. I wanted to learn about the magic of silk painting, so I signed up. That was more then a decade ago. Now I paint almost exclusively on silk and share my love and knowledge of working on this wonderfully sensuous fabric with my students. I never tire of watching the magic of what happens when dye spreads across the silky fabric. I love to see the excitement and surprise in my students’ eyes as they too fall under this amazing spell of silk painting. Although I also work with several other fabrics such as cotton and velveteen, silk is my favorite fabric on which to paint. Over the years, I’ve participated in many fine art shows and exhibited in many specialty boutiques. I’ve been published in Belle Armoire Art to Wear magazine, and have been chosen to teach for RJR Fabrics Cosmopolitans. Now I am concentrating on teaching my art to others.
